A considered window renovation for a beautifully transformed family home

We were delighted to return to Franche Court Road, SW17, for the third time.

To be invited back to the same street is always a wonderful compliment, and being recommended by neighbouring homeowners is something we value enormously.

This project formed part of a complete renovation, with the existing PVC windows replaced to complement the newly transformed interior. The original windows featured extensive uPVC trims, along with sealed units that were no longer providing the level of energy efficiency expected from a modern home.

Attention to Detail from the Outset

The homeowners chose to remove the existing window boxes and have the reveals plastered directly back to the new windows. Projects like this require careful planning and close liaison with a number of different trades to ensure that every stage of the renovation works seamlessly together.

We always recommend installing the windows before the final internal plastering is completed. This allows the plasterwork to be carefully finished around the frames, creating crisp, clean reveals and a much more refined overall finish.

The choice of shutters also meant that traditional wooden or uPVC architraves were unnecessary, as the shutter frames would cover them. This creates a cleaner, more streamlined appearance around the windows and allows the shutters to become an integral part of the finished design.

Precision Installation, Delivered on Schedule

The installation was carried out to a particularly tight programme. As our clients were temporarily living in rented accommodation, completing the window installation promptly was essential to keeping the wider renovation on schedule and within budget.

Through careful planning, communication and coordination with the other trades, we were able to deliver the installation within the required timeframe while maintaining the high standard of finish we pride ourselves on.

A Home Designed for the Future

Projects such as this are particularly rewarding. This was not simply a window replacement. It was part of the complete transformation of a property into a beautiful, considered family home designed to be enjoyed for many years to come.

There is also a lovely personal story behind this particular project. This was the first installation we completed on Franche Court Road, SW17. We have now returned to the street for a third time, and our original clients, whom we first worked with when they were renovating their home, are now married and have children.
